Toys and a Dress

These are the toys I made last year finally shot in the studio. I've had them sitting in my room and I finally made time to go shoot them! This weekend was all about photo shoots. I helped my friend Nicole shoot some toys and afterwards, my other friend Nicole came and modeled my dress for thesis. Does this dress look familiar? It is the dress the main character in my comic, "Atelier," wears. Link to the reference sheet I used to sew this dress can be found here: http://kfitzpat.blogspot.com/2009/11/thesis-turn-around.html A big thank you to my mother for helping me construct this dress. She spent hours gathering the fabric for the ruffles and I truly appreciate that.

Plein Air Paintings

Most of these were completed in one session (around 2- 3 hours). The first two were done in oil and the last 3 were done in acrylic. It's interesting experimenting again in my landscape painting class. I'm obviously most satisfied with the last painting. It's the most resolved.

Book Spreads

Here's the layout for my portfolio book that I am self- publishing and sending off to some companies that I would LOVE to work for and the thumbnails for my children's book that I am currently working on. I'm about 1/4 of the way done with the black and white mock-up, but here's the thumbnails for now.

A quick portrait using Corel Painter 11 and Photoshop CS4 of one of my favorite artists. Just something I did in my spare time to take my mind off thesis.

Round Dos of Characters

Perfume Photography

Advertisement and Still Life shots for perfume campaign. The perfume is Paris Hilton's "Can- Can". REALLY big thanks to Vicki for not only modeling for me, but providing the perfume. No thanks to Walmart for sucking when I had to pick up the fabrics and flowers for this shoot.

Character Portrait Mock-ups

These 6 pieces are going to be framed for the Senior Illustration show at the end of April. They are portraits of the characters (originally seen in the turn-arounds I uploaded here last year) in the comic I am currently working on. These started as being ink drawings on 20" x 30" illustration boards, when I coerced my friend David into taking pictures of these so I could bring them into Photoshop. I'm now coloring them digitally. This is the mock- up with some flat colors laid out.

Thesis Backgrounds Revised

Alright. I am having to re-paint my backgrounds. My computer fried a couple days ago and I lost 90% of projects I have been working on for the past 5 months. All of the colored backgrounds were lost. So here is the beginning of a new chapter.
