Thesis Show

These are the photos from my senior show. You can see everything came together. The dress, the character portraits, etc. My environments and turn-arounds were in the book on the table along with my artist statement and business cards. The show went great and I saw a lot of old friends! This is my goodbye to Ringling.

Landscape Class Final

As part of the class final for my landscape painting class, we went out across the street from Marina Jack in Sarasota,FL and all worked on huge pieces of chip board in black ink. The class sat with our backs facing each other in a huge circle. It was the most fun I had had all year in the class. This is my piece of the assignment. It is duck-taped at the top because the boards was so cheap, it warped like crazy. I ended up taping it to hold it down. I had to toss this in the move back home.

Birthday Card (Dad)

This is a birthday I made for my dad today. Probably going into my portfolio for greeting card companies. Needs some touch-ups b/c I did it so quick, but I wanted to show you guys what I've been doing.

A little meaning behind this. My father is a Resident in Aerospace Medicine or RAM. It's always been his thing to collect throughout the years and he even uses it as part of his email. I thought it would be neat to incorporate a ram into the design. Last time I did a ram in scratchboard it was for my dad as well.

Colors! Round Dos

Here's 2 more drawings I did a week after the first ones. It's been almost a month since I've done these, but uploading them is annoying because I have to go through 2 conversions and then wait for the video to upload here on blogspot. Enjoy!

Tattoo Commission

Here's some freelance work I recently completed for a tattoo design of a Foo (Fu) Dog. The mock-up on the right was taken under the Creative Commons License just to give my client a better idea of placement.

From Wiki:
Chinese guardian lions, called Fu (Foo) Lions, lions of Buddha, or sometimes stone lions (石獅, Pinyin: Shíshī) in Chinese art, are a common representation of the lion in pre-modern China, which is believed to have powerful mythic protective powers that has traditionally stood in front of Chinese Imperial palaces, temples, emperors' tombs, government offices, and the homes of government officials and the wealthy from the Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220), until the end of the empire in 1911. Sometimes the female has her mouth closed, and the male open. This symbolizes the enunciation of the sacred word "om". However, Japanese adaptions state that the male is inhaling, representing life, while the female exhales, representing death.

Colors! Uploads

After trying to upload these multiple times, I finally installed a new program and lowered the quality of these vids. They were too large to upload for some reason. Will upload a lemur and a pirate chick later.
