Birthday Card (Dad)

This is a birthday I made for my dad today. Probably going into my portfolio for greeting card companies. Needs some touch-ups b/c I did it so quick, but I wanted to show you guys what I've been doing.

A little meaning behind this. My father is a Resident in Aerospace Medicine or RAM. It's always been his thing to collect throughout the years and he even uses it as part of his email. I thought it would be neat to incorporate a ram into the design. Last time I did a ram in scratchboard it was for my dad as well.

Plein Air Paintings

Most of these were completed in one session (around 2- 3 hours). The first two were done in oil and the last 3 were done in acrylic. It's interesting experimenting again in my landscape painting class. I'm obviously most satisfied with the last painting. It's the most resolved.

Christmas Presents

Here are the Christmas presents I did for my family and friends this year. I'm sorry the picture quality is terrible. I had to use my mom's snapshot camera to take the pictures (I left my D40x back in Sarasota). Needless to say the camera's ISO breaks down at 200. Strange I thought to have that much grain at 200. In order these were are (in the first picture): cupcake and icecream (Tiff), ring-tailed lemur (Jack), unicorn (mom), red panda (SJ), sea turtle (sister Erin), pig (sister Aileen). I hope you guys enjoy these despite the rushed paint job and picture- taking. ;)

Japanese National Tree/ Flower: Cherry Blossom

American National Bird: Bald Eagle
American National Flower: Rose
