New Carter's Portfolio

Yes, it's that time again! I did another assessment test for Carter's (who I would LOVE to work for). These were all vectored in Adobe Illustrator (with the exception of the last floral, which I hand drew and colored in Photoshop). The idea here was to create a bunch of characters, clothing prints, and florals to be used in children's clothing. This is what I've been up to for the past 2 weeks. Hope you enjoy it.

This is some of my process work. Definitely not all of it. I think I filled about 20 pages in my small sketch book and these are about 15 of the pages compiled into one image.

Colors!

Since thesis is over, I've had a little free time to mess around with the Nintendo DS homebrew program Colors! It is essentially a portable oekaki on your DS. Super cool needless to say, although I've been having some stylus jumping problems (which are apparent in the videos).

So I drew a barn owl (yay birds!) and one of my thesis characters today in about a half hour or so. Having a lot of fun messing with it. I wish it had a simple undo button though (especially due to the stylus jumps).

Plein Air Paintings

Most of these were completed in one session (around 2- 3 hours). The first two were done in oil and the last 3 were done in acrylic. It's interesting experimenting again in my landscape painting class. I'm obviously most satisfied with the last painting. It's the most resolved.
