Decided to play around with the brush settings in Photoshop and try inking digitally in a very different way than I've done it before. As a massive Mega64 fan, I decided to use Garrett's character from their Firefall Fest stream as inspiration for experimenting with digital inking. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Noel Fielding Sketches (again)
Experimenting with graphite and marker combined. I think it looks quite nice together for sketches. It's really easy for the graphite to get messy quickly though since I'm working so dark. Yes. Noel Fielding was the subject matter.

Batman Sketches
Today I polled if I should sketch more Noel Fielding or Batman and consensus was Batman! Coincidentally, Dark Knight Rises will be released at midnight tonight in Japan! Woohoo! I'm seeing it on the 1st (Lady's Day) as ticket prices are insane here. Very excited!
These were copied off of a sketch of Cinar's as well as Burnham's Batman Inc. cover.

Noel Fielding Gouache
Went for a jog after painting the last quick watercolor and felt like doing another portrait of Noel. His face is so hard to capture for me. It's always a fun challenge to paint him. This one's in gouache.

Elektra Sketches
Did some sketches from Greg Horne's covers of Elektra. Still dipping my toe into the pool of comics. I love how sexy Greg can make comic book women look.

Hand Studies
Been working on some studies. Decided to start with hands and then move into heads. I also threw in some Daredevil sketches because who doesn't love Daredevil. You might recognize them as copies from Yellow. I'm a massive Tim Sale fan. I'm not however a fan of grey prismamarker brush pens. Not even good for sketching I'm afraid.

NGHFB Shirt
As most of you know, I'm a huge fan of music. I listen to it while I work on art, when I'm on public transportation, when I'm walking to and from places, etc. Music inspires me quite often. Recently, Noel Gallagher played at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo and I was able to go and see him perform. As a child, I loved Oasis so it really was a childhood dream fulfilled to see him play. This shirt is dedicated to him.
"If I had a gun, I'd shoot a hole into the sun
And love would burn this city down for you"

Mighty Boosh Portraits
As you may or may not have noticed by now, I've become quite obsessed with The Mighty Boosh. I've done several portraits of Noel Fielding, but I really wanted to do character portraits of Vince Noir and Howard Moon. Collectively done in Corel Painter and Photoshop and took around 15 hours.

Skyrim Hoodie Design
My first zipped hoodie design! I'm pretty pleased with this. The creative idea and initial sketch was done by my friend Varg (who commissioned me to do this). It's a 6 color design based on the game Skyrim. Completed in Adobe Illustrator and the mock-up was done in photoshop to show placement.

Noel Fielding Sketches
Have I lost my mind? I'm not quite sure. I've just started sketching Noel Fielding in my free time at work. He has such a striking face. I love it. I think I need to stop drawing Noel, but I am going to do some Mighty Boosh fan art in the near future (yay Golden Week!).

Simon Amstell Portrait
Another fun, quick portrait I did this weekend. This one took around 4 hours. Started in Photoshop and finished in Corel Painter (the usual).
I've really gotten into British comedy as of late and I can quite honestly relate to Simon Amstell and his quirky stories. He's a brilliant comedian and if you don't know who he is, you should check out season 2 of Grandma's House (currently airing in the UK).

The Crow Speed Paint
Decided I would throw up a speed painting I did last night of my own Crow. I've loved O'Barr's work for many, many years and tomorrow is the anniversary of Lee's death. I've been really sick lately and haven't been able to work on much, but I wanted to put something up since this has been on my mind. Photoshop CS4. 2 hours.

Fabric for Sale
My test swatches finally arrived in the mail this past Friday. I waited almost a month for overseas shipping from Spoonflower, but the result is worth it. I apologize that I took these photos with my cellphone camera, but the colors are true and quite vibrant. I really like the way the digital printing looks. I made some minor adjusts to 2 of the prints, but otherwise, these came out PERFECT.
All 21 of my patterns are available for purchase over on Spoonflower here: link
I have girls, boys, floral and anime collections currently available for sale. I will be adding more adult collections in the future.

Mega64: Mega Gods (video)
Royce Kokami once again edited and posted a video short of the Mega64 podcast of my art. Thanks again for doing that! Anytime I need a self- esteem boost, all I have to do is watch this video.

Mega64: Mega Gods
After a month of painting on weekends and in what little free time I had (October was busy!) I managed to finish a painting request for the one and only Mega64. I can honestly say I've never spent as much time on a painting as I did on this one. This was ridiculously complicated. For more information on this painting, I've linked 2 youtube videos from the Mega64 podcast (edited by Royce Kokami).
